Expat nightmares in getting the boot from your posting house
04/22/09 07:00
This is a familiar story, I am sure, for many expats who are unfortunate enough to experience renting a home in a foreign place.
Renters get kicked around and many times just plain cheated out of their contracts by owners or landlords.
The author of this article tells about her family's tale of renting an apartment in Venezuela and the landlord trying to sell it out from under them before their contract ran out.
Then on to Ottawa, where owners decided they were coming back a year early, forcing the family to move. Read and learn.
