Where to Celebrate Halloween in Hong Kong

10/20/09 07:35

Hong Kong, being the international city that it is, celebrates Halloween just as much as the rest of the world does. It is widely believed by the city's superstitious citizens that on the day of Halloween, spirits roam the world for the entire twenty-four hours.

That does not dampen the spirits of party goers during this time, however, as a lot of establishments and theme parks have crafted specific Halloween programs for you and your family.

If you're already in Hong Kong for Halloween, probably one of the most recommended places for you to go to is already Hong Kong Disneyland. This theme park captures the very essence of an American Halloween celebration with even Mickey and Goofy dressed up for the celebration. There will even be a dedicated Halloween Parade, complete with characters like Jack the Pumpkin King.

Now if you feel that you've already had too much of the American Halloween, then why not try out something that is authentically Hong Kong? Hong Kong's largest theme park, Ocean Park, can certainly do the job. With over 400 costumed characters and 20 haunted locations based on traditional Hong Kong Halloween stories, Ocean Park's Halloween celebrations is certainly Asia's biggest Halloween bash!

Still not happy with the theme parks? Would you rather go with your family and do the traditional Trick or Treat instead? Well, the entire city of Hong Kong is with you. There will be a city-wide Halloween celebration with the focus on the Avenue of Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui. A great number of characters will come out as ghosts and other spooky characters, while game booths will be also set up to provide relief entertainment.

So there you go. Hong Kong certainly knows how to celebrate Halloween. If you are still not satisfied with it, then I do not know what else to recomment. Haunt Kong is the undoubtedly the best place to be in and celebrate Halloween!
